Hooray! It's coming home.
@rcadden: You certainly can do all that with S60 (and I'd really love Android in an E71 / E63 FF), but the experience and speed is better with Android IMO. It's also more robust so far - apps share data connections well and under stress (low memory / poor signal) the experience degrades better.
Right now it is a geeks phone, but slap it in some decent hardware simplify some of the config screens and you have a rock-solid normob phone with far fewer unpleasent surprises.

No seriously, it's OK (just - lasts one day of my use)... but the hardware as a whole is pretty poor. Having said that I still think it's going to be my main handset for a bit as Android is so good.

Loving the soft-touch back too... not as flashy as E71, but better looking without a polishing cloth!!!

Yup E63 is a real work-horse. Cheap enough to chuck around, no frills, but great to use and rock solid.
Biggest problem is that recent dalliances with Android, iPhone and even Blackberry leaves S60 looking and feeling pre-historic.

@arjw is right (I'm ex Fordy) getting platforms internationalised has been going on for some time. Escorts in UK and US were different cars, but Focus replacement is international model based on common platform. I think Kuga shares that same Focus platform meaning it is affordable to develop models specific to individual markets (i.e. it might not go to the US).

@ACUK: Yeah - it's available sim free and subsidised on other networks but not from Three yet with their services / apps installed.

I like both. Bold feels more rounded OS-wise to me after a brief play. Screen is awesome.

The Bold is available, but not via Three yet. They said they hoped to have it Nov 1st (fail) but I'm assuming we won't see it for another fortnight yet at least as the normally well-informed blogs haven't mentioned it.
